Horn from the Heart: The Paul Butterfield Story – Midwest Premiere

Sunday, October 15, 4-6:30pm
Logan Center for the Arts, Performance Hall

A tough white kid from Chicago’s south side, Paul Butterfield learned the blues from the original masters in his own back yard. His interracial band and dynamic harmonica playing added a hard edge to the music and played a key role in introducing the blues to the much larger rock audience of the mid-‘60s.Until his death in 1987 at the age of 44, Paul expanded the definition of what the blues could be, while remaining a strong advocate of racial equality. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
